About Eastside Orthocare and Dr. Craig Mines
Dr. Craig Mines of Eastside Orthocare is an extremely caring and compassionate surgeon who truly believes his patients deserve to be treated the way he would want his family members treated. He enjoys both the non-operative as well as the operative care of the musculoskeletal system. At Eastside Orthocare it is a frequent occurrence to hear Dr. Mines' recommending continuing conservative management rather than rushing the patient into an operation. We can always operate on you later, however, but we can never UN-operate on you. This belief will often reassure the patients that we have their best interests at heart. Dr. Mines recalls being taught by his bowtie wearing mentors and professors in Medical School and Residency that do all you can do for your patients prior to performing surgery and then when it comes to surgery be the best at it. He continues to strive to live up to the expectations of his mentors by providing the community with technically advanced compassionately rendered orthopaedic care.
Eastside Orthocare and Dr. Mines also believe in true family care. We enjoy seeing newborns to have their hips checked and then going into the next exam room to wish a great-great-great grandmother a happy 97th Birthday while evaluating her hip arthritis. Our practice is proud to provide true general pediatric to geriatric care of our community. We are one of the few practices in Gwinnett County who gladly will see children with general orthopedic problems and fractures. Dr. Mines makes himself available to patients in both the Pediatric and Adult Emergency Rooms at Eastside Medical Center.
Dr. Craig Mines is extremely well trained. He trained at a nationally recognized and respected Medical School and Internship/Residency Programs in New York City. His final year of training was spent as the Chief Resident. Dr. Mines feels he was exposed to and taught by some of the best Orthopaedic Surgeons in the United States as well as globally. Dr. Mines has been Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for the past decade and remains involved in the local, regional, and national orthopedic community. He is an Active Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and frequently participates in national educational events.

His lovely wife Liz also works at Eastside Orthocare to support our mission to provide the best orthopaedic care anywhere. Dr. Mines and Liz have three boys who attend our local schools. Dr. Mines has been the volunteer team physician for student/athletes at South Gwinnett High School for the past 5 years and can often be found on the sidelines on Friday nights. He also volunteers to provide pre-participation physicals for youth in our community who participate in our local youth sport leagues.
